Somjit Yashanawong

Somjit Yashanawong, 67, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at a local hospital in Abilene, TX. Funeral services will be 11:00a.m., Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Elmcrest Baptist Church under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.

Somjit was born on January 1, 1947 to Noo and Tongsi Wongone. She was a homemaker and a caring, loving mother with lots of friends. Somjit loved to sew and most recently loved to be entertained by watching you tube videos. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by two sons, Noi Yashanawong, and Nonh Shanawong.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Thom Yashanawong of Abilene; two sons, Phou and Vanchai Yashanawong both of Abilene; her daughters, Phone Panyanouvong and husband, Oukeo of Tuscon, AZ, Phit Kaikratoke and husband, Jack of Abilene, and Somchay Yashanawong of Abilene; her sisters, Paijit Crump and husband, Robert of Phoenix, AZ, and Oulay Wongone; her grandchildren, Sean Pettit, Ned Panyanouvong, Jonathan Yashanawong, and Polly Panyanouvong; and her great-grandchildren, Gage Pettit and Ayden Panyanouvong.
