Taylor “Drew” Kirk, 23 years 6 months 1 hour and 2 minutes old, our sweet son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend was completely healed on August 16, 2017. He was born on February 16, 1994 at 4:23 am and he left this world and entered Heaven on August 16, 2017 at 5:25 am. Our Heavenly Father called him home to heal him. He was preceded in Death by his Paternal Grandfather Danny Kirk.
He is survived by his parents Rusty and Sabrina Kirk of Abilene; brother Cody Kirk and wife Paige and nephew Casten of Abilene; paternal grandmother Tempie Kirk of Abilene; maternal grandparents Bob and Shirley Anthony of Abilene; paternal aunt Tammie Blankenship and husband Danny of Abilene, and cousin Tana of Winters; paternal uncle Stacy Kirk and wife Maxi and cousins Kylee and Maci of Tuscola; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends that are family.
When God sent Drew to us the Doctors told us he would most likely not live past 28 days. God and Drew sure did prove those Doctors wrong because Drew lived here on Earth for a total of 8,582 days, 1 hour and 2 minutes. Drew was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Brittle Bone Disease) but he never let that stop him from achieving his goals. Drew graduated from Wylie High School in 2012. Due to Drew’s perseverance in 2013 he was able to get his driver’s license which granted him even more independence. Drew started attending Cisco College, Abilene campus, Spring of 2014. During his time there he was instrumental in bringing back the school newspaper The Wrangler Express. Drew received his Associate of Arts Degree from Cisco College May 12th, 2017. Drew began attending Abilene Christian University Spring of 2017. He recently finished up a Maymester and Junemester at ACU and was classified as a Junior. Drew worked at Stephens Processing for his “second dad” Brent Stephens. Drew had so many accomplishments in his 23 years but we believe two of his greatest accomplishments will always be the impact he had on others and the love he had for our Heavenly Father. Drew’s love had no boundaries, he loved people for who they were. He was an inspiration to everyone he crossed paths with. He was so strong and so brave. He never quit fighting for himself or for others. Drew will always be a part of who we are because he taught us all how to live life to the fullest.
Be Strong and Courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
