Lucille (Lucy) Kennedy Temple, a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great- grandmother, teacher, and friend passed on August 17, 2022 at the age of 87. Lucy grew up in Stamford, Texas where she played clarinet in the Stamford High School band and was also a majorette. She was at the top of her class all four years of high school. After high school she attended McMurry College in Abilene, Texas, where she met her husband Billy F. Temple. They were married July 13, 1956 and had sixty-six (66) wonderful years together.
After graduating from college, Lucy taught typing and business at Jefferson Junior High School and at Wylie Junior High School for several years.
Lucy loved to travel. She and her husband Bill travelled every year to many interesting places all over the world and had wonderful stories to share. But, her most favorite thing was being “Granny” to her three grandchildren, Stephanie Wilson Worley and Zach Wilson, and Alex Temple, and to her two-great grandchildren, Braxten and Brylinn Worley. In addition to these loved ones, Lucy is survived by her husband Bill Temple, son Randy Temple and his wife Dorena Temple and daughter Vicki Wilson and her husband Bobby Wilson, and a sister Nancy Cox and husband Bill Cox.
The last three years Lucy was on hospice and bedbound at home in Abilene, Texas. She will be missed by all who loved her.
The family would like to thank Hospice and the Visiting Angels for their excellent care that both have provided these last three years. Both organizations are truly superb, and are a God given gift to the patients and families that they serve. The family is most grateful for their skill and their commitment to their loved one.
