Tomie Guajardo Revell

Tomie Guajardo Revell was born on February 17, 1935, in Ballinger, Texas. She lived a life defined by love, hard work, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She passed away leaving behind countless memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Tomie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Thomas Guajardo Jr. and Maria T. Diaz; her sisters, Fannie C. Sanchez, Anita Rodriguez, Maria Diaz, and Clemencilea Guajardo; her brother, Bonifacio Diaz; and her precious grandsons, David Rene Davila and James Paul Anderson.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She is survived by her sons, David Davila of Big Spring and Daniel Davila of Abilene, and her daughters, Mary Ann Davila, Rose Marie Davila, and Elizabeth Davila, all of Abilene, Shirley Anderson of Lindale, and Christy Davila Reyna of Dallas.

Tomie was also the proud grandmother of six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins each of whom held a special place in her heart.

For many years, Tomie dedicated her career to Hendrick Medical Center, where she worked as a surgical assistant. Caring for others wasn't simply her profession, it was part of who she was. She had a servant's heart and gave of herself freely, offering kindness, comfort, and compassion to patients, coworkers, friends, and family alike. Those who knew her understood that helping others came naturally to her.

When she wasn't working or spending time with her family, Tomie enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo and always hoped to hear her lucky number called. She was a proud and loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, cheering them on with her own pom-poms and never missing an opportunity to support her team. Every morning began the same way, with a fresh cup of coffee in her hands while reading the newspaper.

More than anything, Tomie loved her family. She was the one who welcomed everyone with an open heart, shared her love without hesitation, and made those around her feel at home. Her strength, warmth, laughter, and generous spirit touched generations of her family and everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Although her presence will be deeply missed, the love she gave, the lessons she taught, and the memories she created will remain with her family forever. She will live on in the lives she touched and in the hearts of those who will always love her.

A Visitation for Tomie will be held at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, TX 79606, US, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on August 7, 2026. A Funeral Service will follow at the same location at 11:00 am.
