Tony W. Reed

Tony W. Reed, 70, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 in Abilene. Services will be 2:00p.m., Friday, December 7, 2012 at Community Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 N. 2nd St., Abilene, TX. Burial will follow in the Hawley Cemetery, under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 N 2nd St., Abilene, TX. Visitation will be from 12:00p.m. to 1:00p.m. prior to the funeral service.

Tony was born on April 11, 1942 to Thomas and Frances Reed in San Angelo, TX. He was raised and attended schools in San Angelo, Christoval, and Houston. Tony joined the U.S. Air Force and started serving his country January 25, 1960 until being honorably discharged. He married Betty on August 15, 1986 in Stamford, TX.

Tony worked for Bill Reed Distributing for several years until his retiring in 2003. He was an avid fisherman with a special passion for the outdoors. Tony and his wife, Betty loved to travel.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Betty of Clyde; two sons, Tony Reed, Jr. and wife, Darlene of Magnolia, TX and Joe Reed of Blanco, TX; one daughter, Contesa Reed of Magnolia; two brothers, Benny Reed and wife, Pat of Houston, TX and Steve Reed and wife, Cindy of Splendora, TX; and several grandkids.
