Una was born on March 15, 1979 in Oxford England to her loving parents, Samuel and Rosemary (Drawwater) Dixon. She was the 2nd of three children, she enjoyed a close relationship with her sister, and brother. She began her education in California and eventually graduated from Minot High School-Magic City Campus in North Dakota. Una always possessed a natural brilliance that allowed her many unique opportunities growing up. One that stood out was her opportunity to meet the President at the White House while she was with Girls State. A lifelong learner Una went on to obtain two bachelor’s degrees, from Hamlin University and University of North Dakota, she attended Minot Sate and eventually got her Master’s at Capella University majoring in Gerontology. Una was a gifted writer and awesome storyteller. While in school, she used her natural creativity to be a part of the school newspaper and yearbook staff. Like everyone, she was met with trials, and challenges. However, her strong faith, and selfless support of family allowed her to overcome them all. Una’s faith was at for front of her life; she devoured the Bible and many spiritual books. Her family is blessed with her volume of notes and thoughts she has left behind. Whatever role Una found herself she gave is her best she shined as a daughter, student, sister, wife, and loyal friend. Una’s faith affected the way she approached life, she always had a high moral compass and was very modest. She had the humility of her father never wanting to boast about her accomplishments. Una and her mother shared a special connection. Una also enjoyed her a vast turtle collection. Throughout life Una loved her tea mouse, while many might collect them Una’s tea mouse was special he traveled and had even been to the White House, she planned on writing a book about his great adventures. While her passing leaves a void, comfort is found in the words of the great hymn, “This World is Not My Home”, Una always knew this world was not her home she is at peace now.
