Our perpetual child, Wayland Bert Fraser, changed his earthly address to a heavenly one on August 19, 2018, following a brief illness. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Wayland, including unconditional love and an appreciation for the simple things in life.
Wayland was born on March 4, 1963, to Elaine Fraser and the late Bill Fraser. Also preceding him in death were his grandparents Sidney and Lucy Roberts and Wayland and Mildred Fraser, as well as a very special grandmother, Jennie Belle Fraser. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Elaine Fraser; sister, Christie Fraser; special aunt and uncle, Nellie and Pete Glover; uncle and aunt Michael and Linda Roberts; aunt, Susan Fielder; as well as extended family and many dear friends.
Wayland was our very special boy with a devilish sense of humor and zest for life. He had an endless love for Jesus and his mommy. Even with his many special needs, Wayland was self-sufficient in many ways. He loved life to the fullest, enjoying his family, numerous friends, and ASSLC Workshop.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday August 23, 2018 in the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, located at 542 Hickory St., with Jerry McNeil officiating. Burial will follow in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers will be David Chavez, Pete Glover, David Gray, Richard Maxwell, Mike Roberts, and Mike Zullo. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6 to 8pm on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to special friends, David and Regina Gray.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Volunteer Services at Abilene State Supported Living Center (ASSLC), 2501 Maple St. Abilene, TX 79602.
