

Wilma Eudean Perrin, a cherished and compassionate soul, passed away on December 11, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on May 1, 1932, in Merkel, Texas, Wilma was the kind-hearted daughter of Frank Wilmer McHaney and Freddie Avis (Lawson) McHaney. She was a beloved resident of Baird, Texas.
Wilma attended Merkel High School and graduated in 1950. Shortly after, she married Clarence Johnson, and together they shared 51 beautiful years of marriage. In 1951, they welcomed their first daughter, marking the beginning of a wonderful family journey.
Wilma's career was marked by her work as a realtor, where she held a broker license. She also spent time working at a watch factory, showcasing her diverse talents and dedication.
In her earlier years, Wilma found joy in spending time with her family and her late husband, Clarence. They shared a love for driving their Chevys—hers a stick shift and his an automatic. Together, they built their first home, with Wilma drawing up the plans and decorating it to perfection, as if it were straight out of a magazine. Her creative spirit extended to making flower arrangements for North Park Baptist Church, where she was a long-time member. Wilma also had a passion for shopping, particularly at thrift shops.
Wilma was known for her extroverted nature and her love for people. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special with her compliments and infectious smile. Her legacy of kindness and warmth will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Darla Sanders and husband Greg Sanders of Abilene, Tx; grandchildren, Christa Kurhan (Chris), Wayne Stevens (Shelly), and Kerry Stevens (Angie); six great-grandchildren; brothers, Earl McHaney and Jarrell McHaney.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; late husband, Clarence Johnson; late husband Harlen Perrin; daughter, Linda Stevens; and son-in-law, Kenneth Stevens.

Wilma Eudean Perrin will be laid to rest at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, Garden of Memories Cemetery & Crematory, located at 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
