Cherished wife and best friend to John Merlini.
Cathy will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Nathan, Dylan and Hannah.
Loving daughter of Jean Dirstein, and step-daughter of Frank Klucsarits. Daughter-in-law of Luciano Merlini.
Sister to Greg, Mike and Darren. Caring sister-in-law of Dan and Diana Merlini.
Loving aunt of Jessica, Erica, Jason, Reza, Sara, Samantha and Sandra.
Cathy is predeceased by her father, Don Parker and mother-in-law, Carla Merlini.
We are saddened by Cathy’s passing but enriched by her life. Cathy had a heart of gold and saw only the best in people. Her laughter was infectious and joyful. To all her friends, know she loved you all. Her painting, book and yoga group were an inspiration to Cathy. Cathy’s passion for art will be greatly missed. As an artist in her own right and high school art teacher, Cathy loved to share her love of art with everyone. In her studio, Rivendell, she loved to create things in all kinds of mediums and would lose herself there for hours on end, listening to CBC, especially Tapestry, and creating art.
“Summer afternoon, summer afternoon…” Cathy’s summer days at the cottage will be cherished memories for her family and friends who shared in these eternal moments. Her Scrabble strategies will continue to be challenged and when not looking, implemented.
