As we sit and think about the days gone by today, our deepest sympathies go out to all the family. I am so glad that during my recent return to Ontario I took the time to pay her a visit. She was a special lady who was always ready to lend a helping hand or a sympathetic shoulder. She be greatly missed by both family and friends. My second Mom. Rest well Joyce

We will certainly miss Joyce who was a 73 year member of our Ladies Auxiliary.  Joyce held many positions with the LA including President,  treasurer,  sick and social and banquet administrator. Joyce helped with bingo, funeral teas, banquets and blood donor clinics. As you can see Joyce did so much for the Legion and was always willing to help. So sorry to hear of Joyce’s passing.  She was a great mentor and friend to my husband George O’Donnell when he was on the executive of branch 197, they became very good friends, thinking of you all.

Many fond memories of Joyce and Bill echoing back through the  years.  A lady through and through who had that inner light and  character possessed by so few. I am so sorry to hear of Joyce’s passing. She was such a lovely lady. I used to always look forward to her organizing the annual Beardmore dinner bus after the plant closed. She always asked my mom if it was ok if my dad could drive the bus and be her date lol. My dad always loved going to that dinner. She was always talked highly of by my parents. Angela Tyler

On behalf of the executive and members of Branch 197 , I offer our sincere  condolences in the loss of our comrade Joyce or "Mother"  as we affectionately called her. Joyce donated hours of time to our branch . Sbe was Past President of both the  branch and Ladies Auxiliary. She was the first woman to  be President of the branch. Joyce received the Meritorious Service Award from command. This is the highest award one can receive. We thank Joyce for her service.  She will be missed at our branch. Rest in peace "Mother".
