Marian De Winter

Maria Johanna Helena Bos (aka Marian De Winter) was born July 19, 1948 in Aalsmeer, Holland. She was the beloved wife to Jacques M. De Winter for over 57 years. Cherished mother to Amanda (Pierre); Jacqueline (Peter) and Leanne. Proud Oma to Alessa, Alex, Jacob, Nicholas, Avery, Mason, Reid and Thomas. She is survived by siblings Harry Bos (Ann), Ineke Booth, Trudy Fendley (Randy), Margaret MacCormack (Nat Spagnuolo) and Corry Bos.

Marian is predeceased by her father Gerardus Bos (Gerry) 1916-1985, and her mother Geertruida Bos (nee Arends), 1916-1989. Also pre-deceased by brother Nicholas Bos (1942-1983), and sister Tineke (1943-2022).

Marian loved everyone in her family dearly. She was also a very busy knitter and crocheter, as well as sewing, baking, bingo, bowling, crossword puzzles, and especially reading books! She loved the Y&R, and only missed some episodes after her accident since this soap opera began in 1973. She was always very active with Rockwood’s Catholic Women’s league and was the President of the CWL in Rockwood for many terms. (Oh those turkey suppers!)

A visitation will be held on Monday June 30th from 10 AM to 12 PM at MacKinnon Family Funeral Home located at 55 Mill St. E, Acton. A funeral service will follow at St. John the Baptist Parish, 45 Victoria Rd N, Guelph, beginning at 1 PM.
