Dear Ron family
My sincere condolences to you all of the recent passing of your father
I worked with your Dad in a volunteer capacity at the Acton Curling Club for many years when we were on the board together and also during the 5 years we sat on the renovation committee  together along with two others during the period of 20013-2017.  The committee met at least every second week or at times more for 5 years straight working through designs for the renovation, then  grant writing and once the large grant of $ 250,000 was awarded to ACC we then worked on contractors and awarded the contractor to execute the renovation . Your father was instrumental to this project with his knowledge of the construction industry and applied all his knowledge and wisdom to ensure the significant renovation was complete with little problems. His volunteer time and dedication was beyond exceptional he would go everyday to make sure the contractor was doing the job right!! If he did not like something he would tell the contractor and share his stories. Ron worked for years at the club organizing the senior day curling which continues  today. He was also the maintenance guy for a number of years and made sure the place was in tip top shape. The Acton curling club today has benefited significantly from his wisdom & work as the current members play in a updated club with updated mechanics ,electrical plumbing  ensuring the club continue to be a solid safe club to play curling for another50 years! Thanks to your father’s  significant efforts and his time away from his own family to work toward that goal. He was a no nonsense type of individual and knew how to keep large projects going to the end. Thank you for sharing your Dad through all his years of volunteer work . I myself have moved away from the GTA and no longer curl at the club but I will never forget your father and thoroughly enjoyed my years working with him
