Ivone "Chuck" Gordon Favot

He was Born in Steubenville, Ohio, on October 4, 1937, to Charles James and Gayle Pauline Favot.

He was a graduate of the Wintershall High School in Wintersville, Ohio.

He was an Air Force veteran, serving in the 612th Aircraft Control & Warning Squadron from 1955 to 1959 and was a Senior Airman First Class when he was honorably discharged.

He came to Ajo in 1958 from Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and was stationed on Radar Hill. He lived in Ajo the rest of his life,

On May 30, 1959, he married Amelia Maya in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

He went to work for Phelps Dodge as a welder, retiring in 1985.

Mr. Favot was active in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, serving as a eucharistic minister and as a member of Knights of Columbus.

His family says he loved reading, dancing, and travelling, He made Pilgrimages to the Vatican in Rome and Guadalupe Basilica in Mexico City. He and his wife Amelia's travels included London, Canada's Niagara Falls, Washington DC, Colorado, Las Vegas, California and more.

"He loved volunteering for the Catholic Church leading rosaries, maintaining the facilities and grounds when needed, and many other roles," said his family. "Chuck's greatest passion, however was spending quality time with his family."

Mr. Favot was preceded in death by his parents, Gayle P. & Charles J. Favot, and his grand daughter Olivia Favot.

He is survived by his wife, Amelia Favot; by his son, Gary Favot and his wife Becky Favot; by his daughter Carla Lewandowski and her husband Brian Lewandowski; by his sister, Janet Smithberger; by his grandchildren, Maya Vasquez, Nicholas Favot, Adam Favot, Christopher Favot, Ethan Favot, Christina Lewandowski, and Matthew Lewandowski and by his great grandchildren, Ava Favot, Axel Vasquez and Elijah Favot.

Services will be held on Friday June 27. Visitation will be held at Douglass Funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Rosary will be recited at Immaculate Conception Church at 9:30am followed by Mass led by Father Tom Suss at 10 a.m Burial to follow at Ajo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Favot, Matthew Lewandowski, Christopher Favot, Ethan Favot, Adam Favot, David Anderson, Peter Anderson, and Carlos Maya. A Luncheon will be served in the parish hall after the burial.
