Albert George Bogdanski, 83 went to be with our Lord on August 28, 2019 after a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Beloved son of the late John and Anna (Skalny) Bogdanski, the youngest of 13 children; Albert was born in Blairsville, PA and graduated early from Blairsville High School. As a dedicated patriot, he proudly served in the US Army; stationed in Japan with the 1st Cavalry Division as a Radio & Communications Specialist, proficient in Radiotelegraphy Morse Code. He also played brass as a member of the Drum & Bugle Corps, performing daily, as well as for special military events. Albert married his cherished wife of 61 years, Barbara and later settled in Ohio. He worked nearly 40 years in the steel industry; beginning his career in shipping, running a major mill and retiring as a quality control inspector. Albert, a determined and innovative engineer/mechanic, literally fixed just about anything.
Albert was a generous donor to many organizations and charities. A caring, artistic man with a memorable laugh, who took pride in his gardening and lawn care. He not only was an avid, skilled outdoorsman and NRA Benefactor, but also an active member of various sportsmen’s clubs, a concerned wildlife conservationist and an Audubon Society Member.
Along with enjoying several hobbies and time at the family farm, Albert was a loving, devoted family man with a good sense of humor and a joke up his sleeve. With a passion for travel, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, including the tip of Key West and the mountains in between, he made sure his family experienced memorable vacations in the US, Mexico and Canada.
Preceded in death by his dear son Brian, granddaughter Blair and the following siblings: Mary, Paul, Julia, Ralph, William, Leo, Blanche, Frank, Lawrence, Lester, & Donald.
