Betty June Thorne

Betty June Thorne, a devoted mother, matriarch, and fierce defender of her family, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Known throughout her life for her deeply helpful and caring nature, Betty left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. To know Bety was to love her, as she spent her life putting the needs of others before her own.

Betty's family was her absolute world. She was the definition of a protective, loving mother, always standing as a fierce defender of her children. Her nurturing spirit extended across generations, notably playing an instrumental role in helping to raise her beloved grandson, Dustin. In her final days, she was surrounded by the family she built, receiving the same profound love she had spent a lifetime giving. Her family extends a special note of gratitude to her beloved son-in-law, Eric, whose dedicated and tender care brought immense comfort to Betty. Her sister, Anna, who was her closest confidant and best friend, offered her companionship and comfort every day of her life. Betty was active in her church, Liberty Freewill Baptist Church, until it was no longer possible for her to attend. Cecil Farmer will attend the family and burial service, which will be private.

Betty's legacy lives on through her devoted children and their families, Roger and Amy Thorne, Vicki and Eric Kandle, Lori and Randy Hershberger, Randy Thorn and Erin Guarendi, Kim and Matt Wyatt; her sister Anna Fly and brother Fred Pletcher; Betty is also survived by a beautiful, growing lineage of nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, with another great-great-grandchild on the way.

Betty is reunited in peace with her beloved husband, Merchant (Dutch) Thorne, her parents, John and Joanne (Gary) Pletcher, her brothers, James (JR) Pletcher and LeRoy Pletcher, and her sister, Linda Drake.
