Brian was born on February 22, 1963, in Dayton, Ohio to Russell and Nikki (Nuzum) Dean. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with his bachelor’s degree and later earned his master’s degree from Baldwin Wallace University. During his college years, Brian was also a proud member of Kappa Sigma, where he built lifelong friendships that remained an important part of his life for decades. His intelligence, leadership, and ability to connect with people led him to a successful career in data security and privacy consulting.
But more than any career accomplishment, Brian’s greatest pride and purpose in life was his family.
“Family First” was not just something Brian said, it was the way he lived every day of his life. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a loyal son, and the type of friend who always showed up for the people he cared about. Brian had a gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and included. Whether it was hosting gatherings, planning family vacations to the Outer Banks, grilling during holidays, attending concerts, watching sports, or simply sharing a Miller Lite with friends and family, Brian brought energy and warmth everywhere he went.
Brian never met a stranger. He was often the first person to start a conversation in a room and somehow always knew exactly what to say. He loved making people laugh through his endless dad jokes, quick wit, and playful humor. He was also someone people turned to for advice, guidance, and support because he genuinely cared about others and always wanted to help.
Brian enjoyed rugby and soccer in his younger years and later developed a passion for running. He lived life fully, loved deeply, and left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Brian was preceded in death by his sister, Tammie Dean.
He is survived by his loving parents, Russell and Nikki Dean; his beloved wife, Liz Dean; his daughter, Ally Dean; his son and daughter-in-law, Jake and Lindsey Dean; along with countless extended family members, lifelong friends, and all those whose lives were made better by knowing him.
Brian’s legacy will live on through the family, friendships, and memories he poured his life into.
