

Charles was a devoted husband, an amazing father, an incredible grandfather, a great friend to many and touched just about everyone he spoke to. Chuck loved sports, animals, family, being outside, walking, and life. He dedicated his time to a love of coaching, spending time with his family and friends, and talking politics. He worked for the Kent Post Office for 37 years as a postal carrier and was well known by many on his route for his wonderful personality. He will truly be missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Katharina Harden, daughter Nicole Burke (Ryan), daughter Caroline Shaw (David), son Patrick Gratton (Polly), son Guy Gratton (Sarah), daughter Cheryl Harden, grandchildren Chloe, Keely, Evie, Stephen, Jesse, Cruz, Jacob, Samuel, and Melissa, brother Richard Harden (Mary), nephew Richard Harden Jr (Jeanie), great nephews Johnathan and Derrick, great niece Stephanie, brother and sister in laws as well as their children, and best friend/brother in law Adolf Bauer.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday August 9th during the hours of 4-7pm at The Chapel in Green, 1800 Raber Rd. Green, OH 44685, with a memorial service immediately following at 7pm---“We will miss you Dad, your laugh your smile. For us we know you would give us your shirt and walk a mile. Your friendship, your generosity, your compassion. Your love will be everlasting. We keep memories of you fresh in our mind. Your dedication, your support, and your actions so kind. Trusting, giving, loving, and forgiving. In heaven your life will never end. In you, Our Lord Jesus Christ, God, has made a great friend.”
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Charles’ name to The Chapel in Green.
Charles wished for his burial to be private. He will be interred at Rose Hill Burial Park.
