Cynthia Sue Brown

Sue was born on February 20, 1941 in Massillon, Ohio to Louis and Madonna (Houk) Menkel. She was a graduate of Ellet High School, and she held various jobs over the course of her lifetime. The one she was most passionate about was taking care of elderly in the health care industry. Additionally, she was a partner to her husband in the business of wedding photography for over 25 years.

Sue was an active church member where she was blessed by so many friendships at Faith Bible Fellowship in Tallmadge as well as Millheim Baptist Church in Springfield Township. She enjoyed participating in women’s Bible study groups and taking senior trips to locations throughout Ohio.

For many years, Sue travelled with the love of her life – Ernest, with whom she was married for 60 years. Together, they would participate in craft shows around Ohio, where they enjoyed meeting people and selling their artistic works. Sue was known for her beautiful crochet and sewing works (hats, aprons, bags and more).

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Madonna (Houk) Menkel, and most recently her husband, Ernest A. Brown.

Sue will be deeply missed by her son, Jeff (Jennifer) Brown; daughter, Jill (Michael) Mattingly; and her grandchildren, Leah, Andrew, Julia, and Elise Mattingly; brother, Louis (Debbie), and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends and family may come to call on Friday, April 15, 2022 from 10-11 a.m., services will follow at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home in Fairlawn.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sue’s name to the charity of your choice.
