Dorothy married her highschool sweetheart, Robert "Bob" Crissey. They were married for 57 years until Bob went home to be with the Lord 5 years ago. Dorothy loved and served him well over the years, especially in his last days. She was a very strong and selfless woman, always putting others first.
Dorothy was an excellent cook, often making the best chocolate chip cookies and having them warm and ready for us when we arrived home from school. She also enjoyed gardening, potting her flowers each Spring, and caring for her hummingbirds. Over the years she felt blessed to be able to go on numerous family vacations and especially loved traveling to Yellowstone and the Tetons. Dorothy worked for several years as a bank teller at the Firestone Bank. Her customers absolutely loved her.
Dorothy cherished her family. She created a home that was full of laughter, warmth and comfort. Her spirit of compassion, encouragement, generosity, and unconditional love will remain in our hearts forever. She was such a strong woman, a fighter, enduring kidney disease and dialysis 3 times a week for two long years until sadly, she could no longer fight. We are so proud of you Mom! You have been such an inspiration to us all and will miss you greatly.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Crissey; son-in-law Kirk Gregory; brothers James Hartz and Norm Robertson. She is survived by her loving daughters Laura (Jack) Fahringer; Donna (Doug) Chambers; Grandchildren, Mikayla (Trevor) Ferko; John Robert Fahringer; Emily Fahringer; Hope (Cory) McVaney; Lily Chambers; and her pride and joy, great grandson Daniel Kirk Ferko.
She is also survived by brother, Joseph Hartz; sisters Evelyn Grau; Brenda (Bob) Hiney; sister-in-law Marilyn Winkelman; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
A private graveside ceremony has taken place. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at a later date. May the love that Dorothy so freely gave inspire all towards love and acts of kindness.
