Douglas met his wife Nancy in Hudson, Ohio while working as a distributor for Terex General Motors, celebrating 41 years of marriage. He was employed with Medina Supply as a driver for twelve years before retiring. During their residence at Port Clinton, Douglas loved to spend time at the lake boating. He is remembered for being a handyman with the gift to fix anything and his love for animals. He was a man with beautiful green eyes and a beautiful heart of gold.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Carrier, his step-daughter Dawn Glenny, his step-son David Glenny, and his step-daughter Dana Shoff. He is also survived by his five step-grandsons: Nick Jones, Zachary Jones, Jason Jones, Alex Shoff, and Mitchell Shoff. Additionally, he leaves behind his sister-in-law Marsha Brady, many Canadian cousins, and his special friend John Washington.
Douglas was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Carrier.
A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
