

passed away January 6, 2012. She was born in Akron on April, 10, 1928 and graduated from East High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and Henry Miller; brothers, Francis “Dutch” and Eugene Miller; sister, Virginia Teeter. She is survived by her sister, Rita Vaughan; daughter, Maureen Malek; son, Rob Gauer; granddaughter, Michelle (John); great grandchildren, Tyler and Madison; Steve Otto, whom she thought of as a second son. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Eileen worked at Northgate Lanes in Cuyahoga Falls for over 40 years. She was an avid golfer and bowler and loved to play bingo and cards. Eileen also enjoyed reading. She was the Akron Beacon Journal’s “Female Bowler of the Year” in 1951, and once had a hole in one at Valley View Golf Course.
Eileen requested that there would be no funeral services or calling hours.
The family wished to express thanks and gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Hospice on Ridgewood for their care and support.
