A devoted wife, mother, Nana, sister, and Aunt NeeNee, Erma passed away on October 28, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, cherished memories, and family traditions that will continue for generations
Erma’s beautiful life began on August 27, 1938, in Akron, Ohio, where she was born to Walter and Eva Kuhn. On June 16, 1956, she married the love of her life, David, and together they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on November 6, 2018.
Soon after marrying, they welcomed their son, David Jr., and later their daughter, Debra. Erma and Dave built a warm and loving home that became the gathering place for family and friends. Their home was filled with countless memorable pool parties, annual Christmas Eve celebrations, and so many good times together. Erma made it a priority to celebrate family, keep traditions alive, and bring everyone together. Without question, she was the family’s matriarch, providing a constant source of love, strength, and stability. The traditions she treasured and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Erma’s life was grounded in her strong faith and love for the Lord. As a longtime member of Maranatha Bible Church, her faith provided strength, guidance, and comfort throughout her life and was an important part of the legacy she leaves behind.
Over the years, Erma and Dave enjoyed countless adventures together, including camping, boating, and traveling. Following Dave’s retirement, they discovered a shared passion for buying and selling at flea markets and antique shows. What began as a hobby grew into more than 40 years of wonderful experiences, friendships, and memories with so many special people along the way.
Erma’s love for her four rambunctious grandsons was unmistakable. She was an active and dedicated presence in their lives, spending countless hours cheering them on at sporting events and school activities. Her love, encouragement, and involvement helped shape the wonderful young men they are today; and while the years may have slowed her down a little, her love for her five great-grandchildren was just as strong. She treasured the time she spent with them over the past eight years, creating another generation of precious family memories.
Erma was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Eva Kuhn; her beloved husband, David Teeple Sr.; her brother, John “Herk”; and her sisters, Catherine “Cass” Snyder and Mary Jane Yost.
She leaves behind her loving family: brother, Paul (Mary) Kuhn, her son, David Teeple Jr. (Lisa White); her daughter, Debra Rosen (Kurt Movsesian); her adoring grandchildren, Mark “Buddy” Barnes, Adam (Shelby) Rosen, Ryan Rosen (Lindsay Venham), and Sean Rosen (Katlyn Conner); and her five beautiful great-grandchildren, Colt, Grayson, Sadie, Theo, and Jayce. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to her wonderful Greenview Assisted Living family for the love, kindness, and support they provided Erma over the past four years. Your compassion and care will never be forgotten.
Calling hours will be held on November 6, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service and burial at Rose Hill Funeral Home & Burial Park, 3653 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44333.
Following the services, the family invites everyone to stay for a luncheon to share stories, reminisce, and celebrate Erma’s beautiful life over good food and good fellowship.
