Femka Rakitovan, age 89, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on December 5th, 2023. She was born on February 6th, 1934, in Deliblato, Yugoslavia. Femka was a devout Christian Sister in the Lord; she was baptized at the age of 16. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and fun-loving nature.
Femka came to America at age 28, in 1963, and she was a faithful member of the Apostolic Christian Church [Nazarean] of West Akron. She found solace and strength in her faith, and her church community meant a great deal to her.
Femka was an accomplished seamstress and the proud business owner of Femka's Alterations. She had a passion for sewing and was known for her attention to detail and skill in creating beautiful garments.
In her free time, Femka enjoyed singing, reading, gardening, spinning yarn and sewing. These hobbies brought her joy and allowed her to express her creativity.
Femka Rakitovan is preceded in death by her parents, Svetozar and Sofia Rakitovan, four sisters, and four brothers. Sadly, she has no immediate living family members. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Memorial services for Femka will be held at Rose Hill Funeral Home & Burial Park, located at 3653 W Market St, Akron, OH 44333. The viewing and visitation will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, December 8th, 2023, followed by services at 11:00 am. Femka will be laid to rest in the cemetery following the services.
