Helen H. Harris, age 77, of Pataskala, Ohio, passed away in her sleep Tuesday, February 25, 2025 in Fairlawn, Ohio from a bout with influenza. She was born in 1947 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She grew up in Farmington, NC with her father and three sisters living first with her grandparents Lucy and John Harding, and later in the Horn house adding her step-mother, two more sisters, and two step-brothers. When she was little, she got in trouble for spending some of her dad’s collectible Liberty dimes on candy from the nearby corner store that she and her sisters would walk to. They spent summers swimming in the pond and living the country life. She met the love of her life, Ronnie, in 6th grade, had her arm twisted by her oldest sister to ask him to a high school dance, and eventually eloped and were secretly married for months. Helen was an amazing stay-at-home mom raising their two sons through Star Wars toys, LEGOs, baseball cards, GI Joes and Transformers. She was active at Summit Baptist Church where she played piano and organ, taught Sunday School, directed the choir and was treasurer for many years. She went back to school at age 38 and got her Associate’s in Accounting and then worked for a number of years to help put their sons through college. She and Ronnie lived a long and happy life together, were each a part of the other, and was never whole after he passed. She was preceded in death by her father & step-mother Ray & Anita Harding, her oldest sister Ann and her beloved husband Ron. She is survived by her two sons, daughter-in-law, adopted “daughter”, 6 grandchildren, 6 siblings (4 sisters / 2 brothers) and their families. A Memorial Service will be held at Summit Baptist Church in Summit Station, OH on Saturday March 8 at 2pm followed by fellowship and finger food in the vestibule.
