

Leonard Edgerton Law I (89), the last surviving child of the late Edith and William Law, went home to be with the Lord October 13, 2011. Mr. Law was born December 30, 1921 in St Thomas, Jamaica. In 1944, at the age of 21, he traveled to the United States on assignment from his government to support the U.S. during WWII. It was during this assignment that he met Dorothy Gladman. They were married in 1945, and went on to raise eight children in the love and adoration of the Lord.
Mr. Law was employed by Babcox & Wilcox where he retired at the age of 55. He then embraced his entrepreneurial spirit and established a family owned and operated Landscaping business in Akron, Ohio.
Mr. Law accepted the Lord as his Savior at a young age at Hill’s Temple First Born of The Living God and continued to dedicate his life to his service as a Deacon. He was a member of New Jerusalem Interdenominational Church at the time of his passing.
Mr. Law is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dorothy May Law; five sons: Leonard Jr. (Mary), David Sr. (divorced), Ronald Sr. (Shirley), Jeffrey (Delana), and Anthony (Patricia); three daughters: Inyiwe (D’Ajewa--dec), Beverly (divorced), Edith (James Sr.); 36 grand children; 54 great grand children; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
