He was born on March 31, 1942 in Mobile, Alabama to Paul and Willie Lee Young. Levon graduated from Central High School in Mobile. He worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company as a tire builder for 9 years. Levon loved fishing, boating, and being outdoors. He was an avid sports fan, including the Cleveland Guardians and the Browns.
Levon is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 54 years Janie, brother, Harry Young (Corinne), sisters, Hertha Dawson (Raymond), Alice Thomas (Governor), and Ann Jones.
He will be deeply missed by his children, Rhonda (Michael) Young-Sharp, and Larry (Sapphire) Young, grandchildren, Bryant Sharp, Bryanna Sharp, Michael Sharp, Lauren (Gabriel) Cavallaro, Livia Young, and Logan Young, and great grandchildren, Rylee and Rylon.
A private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Akron Children’s Museum or Love Akron in care of Levon A. Young.
