Lewis (L.D.) Hartwell, of Northampton went home to be with the Lord on December 25, 2012 at 87 years of age, at his son’s home in Macedonia. He was born in Princeton, West Virginia as the oldest of five children. Proceeded in death by his loving wife of 64 years Hazel, parents, Lewis and Lena Hartwell, sisters, Betty Thomas, Shirley Hoza and Jacqueline Nowlin and grandson Jason Donald Sattie. Lewis (L.D.) was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his children Vickie (James) Sattie & Rev. L. Donald (Tonya) Hartwell II, as well as his grandsons, Spencer, Logan and Ayden Hartwell, great granddaughter Kaelyn Sattie and brother James (Bobby) Hartwell. L.D. served the 3 C’s before enlisting in the Army during World War II where he drove a truck pulling large artillery and was classified as a marksman. Returning home he married in 1947 and worked as an auto body repairman in West Virginia until obtaining a job at the Ford Motor Company Walton Hills Stamping Plant in1954. He loved to deer hunt, fish, and attending the Rogers Flea Market. He enjoyed spending time in North Carolina close to his family while fishing in Arrowhead Beach or at the Outer Banks. He is currently a member of Faith Community Fellowship in Sharon Center, OH where his son serves as the pastor. Friends will be received at Catavolos Funeral home 3653 W. Market Street, Fairlawn,Friday, December 28th, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Faith Community Fellowhsip, 1320 Ridgewood Road Sharon Center, Saturday 11 AM.
