For reference to future generations, with great courage, and by writing many letters to friends and family, she survived the Covid virus quarantine. She loved letter writing (Wall Street Journal 7 September 2020).
Margaret was the daughter of Doddridge “Don” Morris Pfeiffer (Canal Dover, Ohio) and Ruth Mary (Duncan) Pfeiffer (Akron, Ohio).
She was known, lovingly, to her friends, as “Peggy”.
She spent 67 years in an enthusiastic, and loving partnership with her husband, Donald Miles McCann, Jr.
She dearly loved her family! She is survived by her son Donald Miles III (Jennifer); David Duncan; and grandchildren – Mary Margaret Steffensen (Stephen), Lucy Elizabeth, Garrett Winston; Ian Pfeiffer (Kathleen), and great granddaughter Willow Celeste Steffensen
She was a dedicated volunteer to many cultural, educational, health care, political, and religious organizations.
Margaret’s greatest talent was bringing people together, and fostering enlightened, gentle conversation on all subjects, even the most controversial.
Friends and family may come to call on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 3653 West Market Street, Akron, Ohio. Inurnment to follow at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Burial Park.
She wanted to ensure a special thanks to the staff of Bath Manor Special Care Centre.
And on the end days of her life – a special thanks to The Cleveland Clinic Hospice.
Nana, you will be missed!
Amen.
