Marilyn was a Garfield High School graduate and lived her whole life in Akron until recent years. Not soon after graduation she started working as a secretary at Goodyear Tire & Rubber and soon met the love of her life, Jim Frank, married and quickly had four children. Marilyn and Jim raised their children in Westlawn UMC and Christ UMC where Jim taught Sunday School and Marilyn sang in the choir and was the church librarian. Her library duties transferred to Christ Woodland UMC upon the churches merging. As a true servant of the Lord she also did extensive volunteer work for the Salvation Army. After raising her family, Marilyn returned to the workplace as an executive secretary at United Disability Services for over 20 years.
Marilyn was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother always working to make life better for her family. It was a blessing in her final days that numerous family members were able to share their love for her before her passing.
