Mary Esther Spreadbury, 93, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018. Mary was born to parents Raymond and Florence Bernice (Welch) Spreadbury in Akron, Ohio on March 4, 1925. She was proud to have been the first women to take mechanical drawing at Kenmore High School in 1943. Mary went on to enjoy a career in drafting, working at various companies, the last two being a draftsperson in plant engineering for the B&W company in Barberton, Ohio and as a technical engineering draftsperson for the City of Akron where she retired after 20 years of service. Mary was a member of St. Hilary Parish in Fairlawn where she was active in the Plus 50 Club and a member of the Society of the Blind. She enjoyed her many friends made over the years and loved her dogs and cats who kept her company. She was known to feed all of the animals and critters in her neighborhood and enjoyed tending her abundant flower gardens. Most of all she loved her family and loved God with all of her heart. Mary is survived by her nieces: Terry Jean (Thomas) Riggle-Greig, Jewellee (Brant) Riggle-Smith, Robin Lynn Riggle-Snyder and seven great-nieces and nephews. My favorite memory of aunt Mary As I was told to call her was when Mindy and I would be out and she would call
And tell Mindy something she needed from the store and she found out I was out with Mindy she would say how is that Marybeth is okay is she married yet are you two ever going to find a nice guy?
She always was so friendly to everyone... I know she was special to Mindy and I know what it's like to have an aunt that means so much even though they didn't go by Mary I had two aunts with Mary as a first name...
However this aunt Mary was one special lady and I will miss her calling us and then saying she needed to go to listen to her radio show...
May you rest in peace and too her family safe travels from where ever your driving from for her service...
Love and prayers and may she be with her sister again... 💕🙏
