Paul G. Swanson, Age 87 entered into rest peacefully Wednesday Aug 25th in Akron, Ohio. Mr. Swanson was the Summit County Engineer for sixteen years. Prior to being County Engineer he was employed at Goodyear Aerospace for thirty years. He was also a WW II veteran with the Army Air Corps. He was a Lt. and a pilot who flew over 50 missions and received the distinguished flying cross, purple heart and Air medal with clusters for his service.
He is the beloved husband of 64 years to Phyllis (nee Scranton). Loving Father of Michael (Joyce) and Ruth Squires. Dearest grandfather of Ryan, Scott, Craig, Robbie, Jamie and Davey. Dear Brother of Mildred (Mike) Belew, Ray (Fran), Gary (Sue) and the late Robert (Glenda). Dear uncle and friend of many.
Funeral services will be held Sat. Aug 28, 12 noon at the Catavolos Funeral Home, 3653 W. Market Street Fairlawn, Ohio where the family will receive friends Saturday 11am until time of service. Entombment Rose Hill Burial Park.
