Rita was born May 23, 1953 in Akron, to the late Charles L. Lucas, Jr and Rosemary (Causa) Bramley.
Rita and her husband owned and operated Hawkins Antiques and Art in West Palm Beach, Florida for many years. Rita enjoyed designing with antique furniture and textiles, sewing custom pillows and slipcovers and attending art auctions. Rita's gallery was a favorite stop for interior designers who appreciated her knowledge, unerring taste and unique style.
She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling to europe with her husband. Rita spent her last three years at Maplewood of Cuyahoga Falls where she was loved by both residents and staff for her quirky sense of humor, beautiful smile and genuine compassion for her fellow humans.
Besides her parents, Rita is preceded in death by her husband W. Dare Hawkins, and her beloved canine companion, Annie.
Rita is survived by her sisters, Kathleen Lucas and her husband Jake Walls, Patricia (Brad) James, her brothers, Chuck Lucas, and Jeff (Jackie) Lucas. Rita also leaves her daughter, Jennifer Hawkins and her husband David Roches, two grandchildren, two nieces, a nephew, cousins and their families.
