

Robert “Bud” Roach, age 83, passed away December 20, 2012, as a result of complications to an injury he sustained by being dropped at Summa Akron City Hospital. He leaves behind his wife of almost 33 years Dorothy (nee Burkholder) and his sons Robert E. II, Douglas J. and Gregory A. Roach, his stepchildren; Elizabeth A. (Phillip – deceased) Dodovich, Robert L. (Peggy) Fruchey, William D. (Marie- deceased) Schellenberger and Benjamin (Michelle) Schellenberger. Bud will also be missed by his grandchildren; Gregory A. II, Shannon, Gary (Jessie), Matthew, Kevin, Lauren, Buffy-Marie and Robert D., and 10 great grandchildren and his sisters in-law Waldeine (Ronald) Brennamen and Martha (James-deceased) Burden.
Bud was a retired long distance truck driver of 35 years, a long-time Teamster, a 50 year Free and Accepted Mason, and an U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict Era. In his retirement, he loved gardening and working in his yard, he also enjoyed volunteering his time to his church and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Mary Elizabeth (nee: Tennant) and his brothers James, Arthur and Sherman “Roy”.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Wednesday, December 26, at the CATAVOLOS FUNERAL HOME 3653 W. Market St. Fairlawn, where family will receive friends from 12noon until time of services. Pastor Rich Nessinger will be officiating.
Entombment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
