Robert was born September 28, 1927 in Akron, Ohio to the late Albert Dixon and Grace Olney (Rodebaugh) Poole.
Robert attended Kenmore High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII, he was a member of the 4011 Medical detachment where he served as Medical Technician. Robert was a rubber worker for B.F. Goodrich for over 42 years.
Robert enjoyed hunting, and hunted in several states, he truly loved the outdoors. Robert enjoyed his time tinkering in his garage, where he was working on a project for a friend or neighbor. Robert was always generous of his time.
Besides his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian M. Poole, his son, Robert Poole, Jr. (Donna), and his daughter, Lillian Mae Infante, and eight siblings.
Robert is survived by his son, Gary (Cheryl) Poole, his nieces, Debora Koger and Susan Hughes, his nephews Tim Poole of Oklahoma and Russel Poole of Alabama; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and friend John Meadows.
Friends may call 10-11AM, Monday, January 13, 2025 at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 3653 W. Market St., in Akron. The funeral service will begin at 11:00AM on Monday. Entombment with Military Honors will be held at the Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum Chapel immediately after the funeral service.
