Ronald R. Knapp

Ron was born on September 3, 1949 to Aloys and Thelma (Lee) Knapp. He graduated from Tuscarawas Warwick High School. Ron worked as a rubber worker and retired from RCA Rubber after 40 years in the business. He honorably served in the US Navy SeaBees in Chu Lai during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the Cuyahoga Falls VFW, Post 1062. Ron enjoyed camping, traveling, playing horseshoes, and corn hole. One of his fondest memories was fishing with his dad at Mogadore Lake. One of his greatest attributes was his patience and kindness. Most importantly, Ron loved being a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He would drop whatever he was doing to help others because he was such a handyman. His hobbies included bowling, woodworking, painting, grilling, and a good campfire. Ron was an avid sports fan. He loved watching the “Team Up North,” the Cleveland Cavs, and the Cleveland Guardians.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Vicki, children, Jennifer (Marty) Tallman, and Jason Knapp, grandchildren, Emalee (Zach Garrett) Robison, Madalynn (James Cottrell) Robison, Olivia Knapp, Trevor (Tori) Tallman, Wilson Tallman, great-granddaughters, Elliana Garrett, and Iris Tallman.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the Hospice Unit at the Summa Akron City Hospital Campus for their care and compassion.

Friends and family may come to call on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 4-5:30 p.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 3653 West Market Street, Akron. A memorial service with time for friends and family to share will follow at 5:30 p.m. The service will be live streamed during this time by copying and pasting the link below. A small graveside service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273 on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 12:45 p.m.
