Sara K McKay

It is with great sadness we mourn the passing of Sara “Sally” McKay, age 82. With great courage and faith, she enters the house of the Lord, surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of John, devoted mother of Mark, Jeff, and Patricia (Michael) LeHere; sister Marilyn Guzzo of Clarkston, MI; and beloved canine companion, Sam, the Bluetick Beagle.

Preceded in death by her parents and sister Beverly Mikels.

Sally was born to John and Edith Mikels in Springfield, OH on October 1, 1934. She spent her early years in New Castle, PA graduating from New Castle High School afterwards attending and graduating from Slippery Rock University in 1956 with a degree in education.

Soon after, she married her high school sweetheart, John McKay, and moved to the Akron area. She taught for two years at Price Elementary School in Cuyahoga Falls, OH; but eventually found her true calling as a wife and mother.

Prior to retirement John and Sally resided in Beloit Wisconsin. During her 61 years of marriage to John, they travelled to many places around the world. Upon retirement, then relocating back to Medina, Ohio, while wintering in Vero Beach, FLA.

Funeral services were private. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park
