Somaya Migid

Somaya Migid peacefully passed away early in the morning on October 29th, 2023 at the age of 75. She was born on November 23rd, 1947 in Cairo, Egypt. After studying design at The Academy of Fine Arts in Cairo, she moved to the United States to continue her study in the arts at the University of West Virginia. She eventually settled in Akron, Ohio and raised a family. She held jobs in the design field at the University of Akron and Macy's department store.

Somaya was kind, loving, generous and beautiful. She will be remembered for the tremendous amount of love she showed for those she cared for. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and made sure they felt that love. Somaya was a beautiful person inside and out. Her loss is deeply felt by those who loved her.

Somaya will be greatly missed by her husband, Adel Migid, son Jeffery Migid, daughter Amy (m. Theodore) Rauh, grandchildren Beatrice, Edward and Genevieve, and the many who cherished knowing her.

As per Muslim tradition, Somaya will be given an immediate burial on Monday, October 30th at 2 p.m. at Rose Hill Burial Park in Fairlawn, Ohio.
