

Passed away suddenly on 13 June 2023 after an acute illness.
Sylvia was born on 1 March 1935 in Akron, Ohio to Agatha and Warren Durkin. Among her fondest childhood memories were her times spent in Cuyahoga Falls and summers on her grandmother’s farm in West Virginia. She graduated in 1952 from East High, Akron. She married her good friend-turned-sweetheart, Robert H. Stull, on 30 Dec 1955. Together, they had four children prior to his passing in 1972. Sylvia married Dennis Conrad in 1975, and they shared the next 34 years together. Sylvia was drawn to health care, and spent many years working in hospitals, in private duty care, and with hospice patients.
Sylvia loved her cats, and she loved her crafts, especially needlecrafts, tole painting, quilting and miniatures. She also always found time to volunteer in numerous neighborhood and local organizations-- the Ronald McDonald House of Akron and Green Good Neighbors holding two special places in her heart.
Preceded in death by her brothers George and Bruce, and her first husband Robert, she is survived by her four children Debra (Ken) Frank, Autumn Kukta (Timothy Campbell), Lisa (Dennis) Trolz, and Robert (Stan Giorgi). She was “Grandma Syl” to Eric Seigfried, Nicholas (Tina) Kukta, Blossom (Clint) Ferguson, Kristen Kukta, Ryan Frank, Lindsay (Andy) Michaels, and Lauren (Pat) Keith, and thru them all, great-grandmother to sixteen. Friend to many, including John Kukta and Elaine McCoy, and Karol Brown.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ms. Jennifer Pillitiere for her attentive and devoted care to Sylvia through the chronic phases of her illness.
No calling hours or services will be held- a private family ceremony is planned.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities- Northeast Ohio, or Good Neighbors Inc.
