Vivian Anne Miller (nee: Vogenberg), 96, passed away on June 21, 2021 after several years of declining health. Born at Peoples Hospital (now Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center) on July 27, 1924, she was the first born of William and Marguerite Vogenberg. She lived most of her life in the Akron area, a proud graduate of Buchtel HS.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald Richard Miller, for whom she lovingly cared for, for many years. She is survived by her children, Carol (Autry), Jacqueline (Dominic), Richard (Kathy) and Dona. She will also be missed by her “adopted” children, Hans and Heidi Proemm. Left to keep her memory alive are grandchildren Jason, Ryan (Kerry), Kassandra, Paige (Quinton), Brandon and Ross. Mother, affectionately call G.G., had seven great-grandchildren Jared (and his mother Heather) Lucas, Annabelle, Cole, Caroling, Liam and Mother’s namesake, Ava Vivian. She is also survived by her younger sister, Patricia (Harry) Reed.
Vivian began scrapbooking as a child, a hobby she continued to enjoy until just the past few years. She had an extensive postcard collection. Many cards came from friends as they traveled the world because they knew that Viv loved getting those cards! Her knowledge o the history of Akron and Summit County was incredible, amassing quite a collection of related books.
Thank you to Jennifer, Desiree and Diana of Stow Glen Assisted Living for the loving care they gave our mother. We are especially grateful for the wonder care she received for the brief time at The Briarwood. Cremation has taken place and the family will honor her life at a private gathering. Remembrances may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter, 70 W. Streetsboro St. #201, Hudson, OH 44256.
