William Edward Wood Sr.

William was a resident of Marshallville, Ohio.

William was known for his love of hunting and fishing. He was regarded for being a man of all trades, having a knack for building, carpentry, electric work, and plumbing. Having served in the United States Navy, he was a member of the Sons of the American Legion along with his children Cindy and Mark. Most of all, he was known and loved for being a Papa Bear, a family man, and a loving husband to Ruth.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Wood; his daughter, Cindy Fox; his son, Mark Wood; and his sisters, Mary Truit and Becky Smith. He was predeceased by his father, Ralph Edward Wood Sr.; his mother, Virginia May Wood; his brother, Ralph Wood Jr.; his sister, Trina Wood; and his son, William Wood Jr.

William also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on December 20, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Family of Faith United Methodist Church located on 800 E Market St, Akron, OH 44305.
