

Zahi was born in Amman, Jordan and immigrated to Akron, Ohio in 1964. He was an entrepreneur of real estate, construction, and international business in the rubber industry. His work was his source of pride, but nothing mattered more than the love of his family. He was very generous and compassionate to all those in need that he met.
He leaves behind his current wife Janice, his former wife Hannah, his son Mousa (Raeda) Kakish; daughters, Sahar Kakish (Scott Heylock) and Ronda (Jeff) Spencer; grandchildren; Zahi, Carmen and Danielle Kakish, Bryon and Jordan Heylock, and Jake Spencer, his brother Zuhair Kakish and sister Insaf Kakish. Zahi was preceded in death by his siblings Suhail, Hani, and Raghda.
Zahi was actively involved in the Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group and the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church as well. The family wishes to thank the Cleveland Clinic staff of the Pulmonary, Cardiology, and ICU departments and the Akron General Rehab Cardiac Center who cared for him throughout his illness.
Family will receive friends Monday April 21, from 4-8pm at the CATAVOLOS FUNERAL HOME 3653 West Market St. Fairlawn. Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday April 22 at St. George Antiochian Church 3204 Ridgewood Rd. Akron, where family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park.
