Alan Ray Moore

He was born October 26, 1929 in Ellery, Illinois to Mabel (Day) and Clark Moore. He married Eleanor Hicks in Henderson, Kentucky, and she preceded him in death on January 20, 2008.

Alan was retired from the oilfield, working for ITT Corporation. He also was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Suellyn (Ron C.) Cowles of Grayville; three sons: Stanley R. Moore of Golden Gate, Illinois, Kevin R. Moore of Grayville, and David “Pete” Moore of Carmi, Illinois; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, son Alan Lee Moore, two sisters: Mildred Gill and Eva Carter, and three brothers: Dale, Harold, and Donald Moore.

A graveside service for inurnment of cremains will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Cemetery near Ellery. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church, and envelopes will be available at the service.
