

Doyle was born August 11, 1936 in Pinch, IL to Roy Paul and Frances (Clark) Briggs. He married Marilyn (Billington) May 27, 1978 in Fairfield, IL.
Doyle owned and operated a chainsaw and mower shop, “Briggs Saw Shop” for over 30 years. He was a logger, trader, and propane service man. He thoroughly enjoyed coon hunting. Doyle was a wealth of knowledge concerning the history of Pinch Community. He will be remembered by many for his expertise in small engine repair.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn, two daughters; Jessie (Ray) Johnson of Yoakum, TX, Carla (Ed) Mercer, of Carmi, IL, three sons; Virgil (Kim) Briggs of Fairfield, IL, Jahue (Brenda) Briggs of West Salem, IL, Bill Bruce of West Salem, IL, two sisters; Lucille Watson of Devine, TX, Ester (Jack) Turner of Yoakum, TX, one brother; Nolan (Connie) Briggs of Antioch, CA, 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Lee Briggs, one daughter, Cindy Goldman, one infant grandson and one brother-in-law, John Watson.
Funeral service will be Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10:00am at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion, IL. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 5:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Edwards County Senior Citizens and envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
