

Ray was born in Olney, IL on November 14, 1924 to Harry and Nellie M. (Badgely) McWilliams. He was a Veteran of WWII. Ray married Ruby (Bunting) True on November 4, 1956 at Pleasant Hill Church and they enjoyed over 51 years of life together. Ruby preceded him in death on February 17, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Glenn and Ralph McWilliams, a stepson Gary Miller and two grandchildren Tanya Marie Bree and Danny Allen.
He is survived by one daughter, Sandra Jackson of Noble, IL, one step daughter, Kathy (and husband, Larry) Greathouse of Albion, and two sons, Daniel McWilliams of San Jose, IL and Randy (and wife Jane) McWilliams of Pecos, New Mexico; grandchildren: Billie Jo Taylor, Sheryl Carter, Daniel McWilliams Jr., Carl McWilliams, Sheila Griffith, Blishel "Buddy" Allen, Candy Smith, Rita Gonsales, Theresa McWilliams and Rick McWilliams; step-grandchildren: Kelly (Greathouse) Fitch, Tracy (Greathouse) Neikirk, Mike Tipps, Michelle (Miller) McEvoy, Rodney Miller and Jennifer Dunn; and several great-grandchildren.
Ray attended the First Presbyterian Church of Albion. He served on the Board of Graceland Cemetery for several years and was also a member and past commander of the VFW, member of the American Legion, Moose and Masonic Lodges in Albion.
Ray owned and operated McWilliams grocery store alongside his wife Ruby for nearly 30 years. He was also a building salesman for "Square Post" buildings, currently "Walter's Buildings". He also worked several years for Wabash Valley as a building salesman. Ray enjoyed carpentering, woodworking and spending time at his farm with his dog "Max" and his horses. In his retired years, Ray enjoyed visiting with his friends at the coffee shop. He will always be remembered for his beautiful flowers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion, IL. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with David Shain officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Albion with Military Rites.
Memorials may be made to the Senior Citizens Center in Albion.
