Greg was the baseball coach when my son Eli was in Jr Hi. My dad was with me at a ballgame and we were all leaving. Vernon saw my dad and said, "Longbons, what are you doing here". My dad told him that he had a grandson playing ball. Vernon did not really know any of the players he came to the games because his son was the coach. This was Eli's 7th grade year. At the next game, I wrote down all the names of the players and their numbers. I got them all typed up (along with their grandparents names) and gave it to Vernon the next game. Think he liked that because with the grandparents it helped him know better who they were. Next year, I just up-dated the list and gave it to him at the beginning of the season. A favorite memory and now I wish I had a list of the players and their grandparents :)

Our condolences to the family on the loss of Vernon. I'm sure he was very proud of his Children and Grandchildren, as he had every right to be.
Vernon and his wife were always such a good looking and friendly couple.

Vernon was a very kind man. Every time I saw him either at church or out and about he always had a smile and a handshake. He'd ask how I was doing and it meant alot to me. He will be missed.
