

Allan was born on July 7,1934 to Wiley Walker, Sr. and Beatrice (Jones) Walker in Camp Ruby, Texas. Allan and family moved to Albion, Michigan in 1945.
He was married to his beloved and faithful wife, Marife (Fernandez) Walker for 38 years.
Allan graduated Washington Gardner High School in Albion, then served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in France during a portion of that time. He had great respect and pride for having served his country. Allan attained an Associate’s degree from Kellogg Community College and a Bachelor’s degree from Oliver College.
He was employed at Corning Glass Works in Albion for 20 years as a machine operator and later in custodial work at Albion College and Kellogg Community College until his retirement in 2008.
Allan believed strongly that the Bible teaches administering to others is a core aspect of Christian life, and for several years he practiced ministry in Cassopolis, Michigan and Gary, Indiana.
In his youth, Allan was a Golden Gloves boxer. Later, he took pride in having run The Detroit Free Press International Marathon of 26 miles in Detroit. Allan enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., Canada and Philippines. He participated in the Million Man March and March for Life. One of his favorite pastimes was writing and at one time he wrote articles for the Journal of Albion. He was a member of the Men’s Breakfast Club. Allan enjoyed sports, especially baseball and football, he enjoyed daily running and jogging, family cookout gatherings and reading. He had a passion for reading the Bible and would engage any and all in scripture discussions. Allan was particularly fond of interacting with his grandchildren and he was devoted to his parents and family. He was a very loving, giving and caring person.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Lori Walker-Jordan and youngest brother, Wiley Walker, Jr.
The memory of Allan will be held in the hearts of his wife, Marife and children: son, Allan B. Walker, Jr.. and children, Allison and Ryan (Shanique) Walker; daughter, Pamela Walker-Stokes and children, Wyatt (Natalie) Stokes, Ethan and Kamille Stokes: son, Stephen (Angela) Walker and children, Brett, Bryan (Corter), Nicholas and Benjamin Walker and children, Talisha, Antonio, Amanda and Jennifer; and stepson, Omar Fernandez. Allan will also be profoundly missed by his 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a surviving brother, Robert Earl Walker, son-in-law, Ravin Jordan Jr., in-laws, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A family hour for Allan will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Grace Temple Church of God in Christ, 711 Grace St, Albion, Michigan 49224, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
