

Arlen “Don” Rockey, age 85 of Albion passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at Medilodge of Marshall, Michigan. He was born March 15, 1932 to Fred Charles and Minnie (Gawthrop) Rockey in Eaton County, Michigan. In 1951, he married Alice McKinney who preceded him in death on April 24, 2005.
Don proudly served in the U. S. Army from 1953 – 1955 during the Korean War. Don and Alice started Rockey’s Campground, which they owned and operated for 20 years. He was a member of the V.F. W. Post #6056- Adams & Rockey, Springport, Michigan.
Don is survived by sons, Mark Rockey of Marshall, Terry Rockey of Venice, FL; granddaughter, Jennifer Rockey of Jackson; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Jacobs and Zella Miller both of Albion and son-in-law, Thomas Sloan of Kalamazoo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alice, daughter Julie Sloan, and several siblings.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, August 21, 2017 from 3:00PM – 6:00PM with the Funeral Service starting at 6:00PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Albion.
