Byron Alfred Neill age 90 of Springport passed away Friday, January 6, 2023 at Spring Arbor Assisted Living under the loving care of his family and hospice. He was born December 12, 1932 in Lansing, MI the son of John and Margaret (Smith) Neill. Byron served our country honorably in The U.S. Army. On November 10, 1956, he was united in marriage to Carole (Buck) and she preceded him in death on September 29, 2021.

Byron’s true hobby was working, he was always trying to find something to do. He was employed with Eaton Corp (formerly Aeroquip) for over 30 years until his retirement, but loved working around his home. He loved farming, raising Belgium horses, growing a huge garden, hay bailing, growing corn fields and would find great pleasure in harvesting, drying and cracking walnuts from the trees on his farm. He also loved John Deere Tractors, and cutting and burning his own wood to heat his home which he did up until very recently. His greatest accomplishment though was the family that he and Carole raised.
Byron leaves to cherish his memory 4 children: Darlene (Randy) Markovich, Robin (Gene) Boehlke, Cindy (Rocky) Winter, Byron (Darla) Neill, 6 grandchildren: Jarod (Brooke) Bender, Megan Bender, Jordon Neill, Logan Neill, Corinna (Nick) Laroche, Kylan Boehlke, 6 great-grandchildren: Maddox Burl, Maveric Burl, Merritt Burl, Brady Bender, Blake Bender, Bryson Bender, brothers: Gary (Silvia) Neill, Phil (Bobbie) Neill and many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
