Charles W. Frederick

Charles W. Frederick age 81 of Albion passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility in Battle Creek, Michigan. He was born March 28, 1937 in Albion the son of Louie and Marion (Schmidt) Frederick. On February 10, 1962 he married Barbara A. Schaar who survives.

Charles was owner and operator of the Frederick Farm (a third generation farm from his father and grandfather) and farmed Holstein Dairy until 1989 and had been crop farming since then. He was involved in the Fredonia Grange, Calhoun County Farm Bureau, Garst Seed Dealer, Michigan Milk Producers Association, Calhoun County Dairy Herd Association was a Trustee with the Sheridan Township & Planning Commission for over 20 years and also a substitute mail carrier for 10 years. Charles was also very involved with the Calhoun County Fair, even winning the Grand Champion Beef Award one year.

Charles is survived by his wife Barbara of 57 years; sons, Scott (Lorrie) Frederick of Albion, Doug Frederick of Albion; sister, Karen (Phillip) Onstott of Blanchard, Michigan, two grandchildren, Yuvonne Frederick and Stephanie Frederick, brother-in-law, Bill Schaar and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11:00AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 Luther Boulevard, Albion with visitation starting at 10:00AM prior to the service. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, December 13 from 4:00 – 7:00PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, Michigan 49224 Interment at Riverside Cemetery, Albion will be at 1:30PM on Friday.

Chuck was such an easy going guy,. I'll never forget the story of him eating a big burger from loves truck stop (Hardee's) and all the innards fell out in his lap , all he had in his hands was the bun... he just smiled.. my thoughts and prayers are with the your family
