Dorine May Hanks, age 88 of Spring Arbor passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in Jackson under the loving care of her family and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice. She was born August 23, 1928 in Parma, the daughter of Francis and Mary (Taylor) Dack. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd, daughter, Shirley Bureau and grandson, Tony Edging.
Dorine was a very talented lady who enjoyed sewing, knitting, painting, bunka art, ceramics, cooking, baking and golf. She enjoyed talking with others and bringing joy to their hearts and lives with her kindness and love that God gave her. She and Floyd also loved car rides together, traveling and just driving in search of a great restaurant to eat.
Dorine leaves to cherish her memory two children, Rickey (Sara) Hanks, Douglas Earl; grandchildren: Joey (Cynthia) Edging, Jesse (Matt) Davis, Levi (Danielle) Hanks, Wade (Maranda) Hanks, Selena (Joe) Wiitala; great-grandchildren: Bodhi Davis, Leah Hanks; granddaughter-in-law, Marcia and several half brothers and sisters.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 11 AM until the time of her service at 1 PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion. She will be laid to rest in Albion Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Foundation for the Blind.
